Admissions Process
The Oberle Academy Admissions Process
What to expect from start to finish.
- Referral
Referrals may come from school division teams or directly from families who prefer to participate in a more traditional family tuition model.Required documents include:
- Completed Application for Admissions
- Current psychological, educational, and social history
- Eligibility documentation and current IEP (Individual Education Plan)
- Psychiatric evaluation, discharge summary, and safety plan (if applicable)
- Medical history, immunization records, and a current physical exam
School records: discipline file, current transcript, report cards, SOL scores, Academic & Career Plan
- Interview
Prospective students and their families will be invited for an interview and tour. Additional assessments and documentation may be requested.
- Admissions Committee Meeting and Decision
Following the interview and final records review, the Director of Admissions meets with The Oberle Academy Admissions Committee to determine student placement. The School Director and Admissions Director will contact the referring agency with an admission decision (or the family if a traditional tuition process is preferred). A Waitlist is sometimes necessary, depending on current enrollment to preserve a desirable staff to student ratio.
- Enrollment
Once accepted, an IEP meeting will be scheduled to outline goals and services. A start date will be set. ALL students begin on a 30-day trial basis, while student progress is monitored and reviewed. No student will be exited from our program without a conference involving all parties.
