At The Oberle Academy, Career and Technical Education (CTE) is more than a pathway—it’s a launchpad to lifelong success. Our CTE program empowers students with hands-on experience, real-world skills, and the confidence they need to pursue meaningful careers after graduation. These courses offer more than technical training—they help students discover their strengths, explore their interests, and build the habits of responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving that lead to long-term independence.
Through guided instruction, personalized support, and community-based opportunities, students engage with a variety of trades and technical fields that reflect real-world demand. Whether working with tools, technology, ingredients, or ideas, they gain both the competence and character to thrive in their next steps beyond the classroom.
Construction & Skilled Trades
Courses: Carpentry, HVAC, Electric, Plumbing*, Welding
Students explore the fundamentals of building and mechanical systems through hands-on training in carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, and welding. These courses develop practical skills, promote safety awareness, and prepare students for high-demand careers in the skilled trades industry.
Personal & Service Industries
Courses: Cosmetology, Beauty Salon Assistant
In our cosmetology and salon assistant programs, students gain foundational knowledge in personal care services—including hair, skincare, and hygiene support—while also learning professional etiquette and client communication. These courses build confidence and prepare students for service-oriented careers.
Culinary Arts
Courses: Culinary Arts, Cooking
From kitchen safety to menu planning and meal prep, our culinary courses teach students essential skills in food service and hospitality. Students gain hands-on experience in preparing meals, following recipes, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Design, Media & Technology
Courses: Graphic Arts/Design, Computer Arts/Design, Drones, Photography
Creative and tech-minded students thrive in our design and digital media courses. Whether it’s designing logos, editing photos, working with drones, or learning basic design software, these classes blend creativity with technical skill for modern career paths.
Environmental & Mechanical Systems
Courses: Agriscience, Small Engine Repair*, Forklift Operation
Students learn the science behind agriculture, machinery, and logistics through agriscience and mechanical courses. With real-world applications like growing produce, operating equipment, or servicing engines, these programs offer hands-on opportunities that build responsibility and self-reliance.
Career Readiness Core
Courses: Core Skills, Education for Employment (EFE)
Core Skills prepares students for technical training with a focus on safety, trades math, tool use, power equipment basics, and workplace communication. Students also build job readiness through resume writing and professional conduct.
This course is a required first step for apprenticeship tracks like Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Welding, and more.
