Al Fagan was appointed as the third president and CEO of The Oberle Academy on July 1, 2022. Previously, he served as its Chief Financial Officer from 2012 and as an independent financial and accounting consultant from 1994.

His career in education began in 1994 as an accounting professor at the University of Richmond. He retired in 2016 after serving the University and its students for 22 years. While teaching at the University, he was named an honorary life member of Alpha Kappa Psi, received an Outstanding Professor award from Delta Gamma, Zeta Gamma Chapter, and was nominated to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. His passion is working with students of all ages and abilities to maximize their potential and increase their quality of life.

Before becoming an accounting professor, Mr. Fagan was Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of AMPRO Fisheries, Inc., an international poultry meal business headquartered in Roswell, Georgia. He is a certified public accountant and business leader with over 45 years of experience in non-profit, public accounting, and private-sector executive roles. His areas of expertise are non-profit organizations and manufacturing businesses.

Mr. Fagan graduated from Stafford High School, attended Virginia Tech, and received his BS in Accounting and MBA from the University of Richmond. He served for seven years as a combat engineer with the 237th Engineer Company, 116th Infantry Brigade, Virginia Army National Guard, in Fredericksburg, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Oberle Academy, a member of the Board of Directors of Workforce NOW, a former member of the Board of Directors of AMPRO Fisheries, Inc., and a sponsor/member of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s 2023 Regional Leadership Team.

He and his wife, Pattie, enjoy biking, hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, archery, and traveling, especially to the desert and Rocky Mountain areas in the West.

Jodi Redman is an accomplished accounting professional with over 20 years of experience in financial management, client services, and team leadership. In public accounting roles, she provided expert guidance in bookkeeping, payroll compliance, and financial reporting while supporting clients through system implementations and accounting challenges. In addition, she managed multi-regional teams and oversaw full-cycle accounting for multiple entities. Her background also includes corporate accounting roles in both nonprofit and private sectors, where she contributed to major system conversions, audits, and acquisition processes.

Jodi holds an MBA from the University of Mary Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Waynesburg University.

At The Oberle Academy, Jodi manages financial reporting and accounting functions including preparation of annual budget and oversees HR and employee benefits. She lives in Stafford County with husband, Jack, and is proud mom of three children. Jodi enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, baking, and reading.

Dr. Kim Doucette joined our team in 2024, bringing more than two decades of experience in education leadership to her role as Director of Admissions at The Oberle Academy. With a deep commitment to student success and inclusive education, Kim leads the school’s admissions office with vision and care—ensuring each student and family is met with individualized attention and guidance.

A seasoned educator, administrator, and advocate, Kim holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University as well as a Master In Education degree from VCU (Let’s go RAMS!) She also holds a bachelor’s degree in teaching from East Carolina University and is a proud graduate of Courtland High School in Spotsylvania. Her career includes both teacher and leadership roles to include principal, hospital education director, student support specialist, and University Supervisor of Student Teachers. Kim has successfully led initiatives that enhanced school culture, improved student outcomes, and expanded access to education.

At The Oberle Academy, Kim oversees all aspects of the admissions process, cultivates relationships with school divisions and community partners, and supports families. Her leadership is guided by a passion for equity and a belief in every student’s unique potential. Kim and her husband, Craig, are the proud parents of two young adults: Jack and Grace. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves exploring art and all things vintage.

With over a decade of experience in special education, Mr. Ken Manahan currently serves as Director of The Oberle Academy—supporting students, families, and staff. Known for his calm leadership and student-centered approach, Ken is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming environment where every student feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Ken graduated from Chancellor High School in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, before earning a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from James Madison University, where he was a four-year starting goalkeeper for the men’s soccer team. He later earned a Master of Education degree from the University of Mary Washington, along with an endorsement in Educational Leadership.

Ken’s leadership is grounded in his deep connection to The Oberle Academy, having previously served as Program Coordinator for four years and as a Special Education Teacher for five years, specializing in Social Studies and Health/PE. His experience in the classroom and in program development, coupled with his commitment to strong partnerships with families, staff, and the broader community, positively shape the student experience here at Oberle.

Throughout his time at The Oberle Academy, Ken has led numerous school improvement initiatives, championed family engagement efforts, and expanded opportunities for student enrichment. His collaborative leadership style continues to strengthen the school’s mission and culture.

Ken lives in Spotsylvania County with his wife, Jessica, their three sons—Garrett, Jackson, and Miles—and their energetic two-year-old pup, Penny. As a family, they enjoy outdoor adventures, weekend getaways, and cheering on their favorite team—Go Birds!

Elizabeth Mark has been a dedicated member of The Oberle Academy team since 2009. She began her journey with a B.F.A. in Art Therapy and Studio Art from Millikin University. Elizabeth then went on to earn her Special Education licensure and M.Ed. from the University of Mary Washington—while actively teaching in our classrooms.

Over the past 15 years, Elizabeth has taught a wide range of subjects including Art, History, Government, Independent Living, and Social Skills. Her experience and deep passion for teaching led to her promotion as Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

In this leadership role, Elizabeth supports our teachers and helps ensure a consistent, engaging classroom experience across the school. She brings a hands-on, student-centered approach to instruction—making learning fun, interactive, and meaningful. Her work reflects our commitment to seeing and supporting every student as a whole person. Elizabeth is a mother of three; her passion for her family as well as her Oberle family is evident in all she does.
